Homecoming
The desire for the survival of the human spirit is exactly what it should be. This is the main focus and thought of most of our mind power and mental energy every minute of every day.
The word ‘Homecoming’ means to ‘return home’ and often relates to ‘a soldiers homecoming’ but regardless of whether or not we are an actual member of the armed forces, the reference to the word ‘soldier’ applies to each and every one of us.
Many of us experience regular events in our lives which pose a threat to our health and safety, where we have had to face a battle to protect ourselves and our well-being. Anyone who has fought a personal battle albeit physically, mentally or emotionally, knows exactly how it feels to be battle weary.
Our homecoming is less acknowledged and less celebrated than the homecoming of a member of the military returning from war, however, the physical, mental and emotional trauma that human beings suffer through on a daily basis is as apparent as any soldier returning from military service, and needs to be recognised.
Every day, in every corner of the globe, we are having to fight battles for our physical, mental, and emotional survival. Whether or not our daily struggles are connected to the cost of living, mental or physical health, relationship issues or social and global pressures, the battles most people are facing each day warrants much more respect and understanding than is being had.
The ongoing battles we face and our dedication to persevere and overcome them all - is rarely championed by a crowd of friends or our family as we thankfully and gratefully find our way back home each day, exhausted from our external and internal combat. This is why we must ensure we take the time to reflect on our efforts and progress frequently.
Whether or not the outcome of our endeavours to tackle the many issues we face is completely satisfactory or favourable to us or not, the fact that we have stood face to face and eye to eye with our problems - often whilst in a mindset of fear - is more than enough for us to understand how our daily battles are designed to help us build stronger and more robust muscles of success.
This does not mean that we celebrate each achievement with a ‘welcome home’ banner and throwing a party everytime we feel we have achieved an outcome, which has helped to raise our confidence level. What we can do, and indeed should do, is silently acknowledge our bravery and willingness to protect ourselves and our sanity come what may.
It is far too easy to simply back down from any threat to our existence on any level, physically, mentally, emotionally or spiritually, in a lack of faith, or hope, or will, or sadly all three. Therefore anyone who makes the conscious effort to find ways to overcome their problems by way of perseverance, tenacity, and the will to survive, needs to know that they are doing exactly they were born to do.
Our homecoming is not a physical place, this is a spiritual place of our higher consciousness. This is our home of higher learning, our home of inner power, strength and truth. Our homecoming is our place of self discovery and internal realisation of who we truly are, and what we truly deserve from life. Our homecoming is the core of our complete human experience, and returning to this place time and again is what will keep us armed and in battle mode, and ready to face whatever life has waiting to test us with.
